This guest lecture will take place in The PIER Classroom.

Dr. Taco Niet will present some of the modelling work being carried out in his research lab at Simon Fraser University as well as present on how he and his team are building models to support sustainable development. He will first explain the concepts of climate justice and how they can be applied in energy systems modelling and then highlight some recent work from his research team. This includes the development of OSeMOSYS Global, building CLEWs Canada as well as community engaged research.

Dr. Niet is the head of the ΔE+ Research Lab at Simon Fraser University in the School of Sustainable Energy Engineering where he guides graduate students in applying energy systems modelling to addressing sustainable development questions.
